“Why Does Social Media Define Me?” conference that aims to encourage reflection on the impact of the digital environment on the creation of self-image and self-esteem, as well as on physical and psychological health.

We’ll be discussing relevant topics such as crimes related to sexual content images, pornography consumption, and so-called “toxic beauty,” along with current issues such as deep fakes, sexting, and sextortion. It is expected that this conference will contribute to greater awareness and responsible decision making regarding the use of social media.

The conference will be presented by Mercedes Llamas, CEO and co-creator of Restart, the first specialized center for screen dependency, with extensive experience in education, criminology, and human rights. She recently gave a valuable conference for parents.

NOTABLE INFORMATION

Thank you to everyone who attended the «Hidden Impact of Social Media» conference, where our speaker, Mercedes Llamas, shared a very meaningful testimony that left us reflecting on the normalization of various situations that children are experiencing today.

We will continue working with our students on awareness, prevention, and overall well-being.

Service as Action: Field Trips to Foundations

  • The first requirement for students to be considered for the CRIT field trip was to have an average grade higher than 8 during the first and second terms.
  • The school was required to submit to the Ministry of Education a preliminary list of students authorized to participate in the trip.
  • Once we have the final grade averages for all three terms, we will review again whether the students meet the requirements to attend.
  • If any student ultimately does not meet the established criteria, parents will be informed accordingly that the student will not be able to attend the trip.

We’ve noticed some students come to school without eating breakfast or without bringing lunch. We understand that during adolescence it is common for some students to skip this meal; however, proper nutrition directly impacts their concentration, energy levels, mood, and ability to learn.

We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing the importance of having breakfast and bringing lunch every day, helping to promote healthy habits and the overall well-being of our students.

Math Tutoring

We’ve received some responses to the survey; however, we’d like to know the status of the entire Middle School, so we kindly invite you once again to complete this survey in order to obtain more accurate and representative information.

If your children aren’t in tutoring, we also kindly ask you to complete the survey, as that information is equally important to us.

Thank you very much for your support and collaboration.

Important Dates

A document explaining the end of the third term and how to verify whether a student is exempt from the final exam was shared on ManageBac. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at rosi.olmos@eton.edu.mx.
