NOTABLE INFORMATION
The Power of Productive Struggle
When children face small challenges, they begin to discover what they are capable of. Taking a moment to try, problem-solve, and persist, even in the face of frustration, helps them build independence, confidence, and resilience.
One of the most powerful things we can do is pause before stepping in. Offering encouragement, trusting their efforts, and allowing them space to try can turn everyday challenges into meaningful opportunities for growth.
My Body Project
Ms. Lola’s Nursery 3 class is working on a project about their bodies, exploring what they can do and how they connect with others through movement.
They have been observing the different parts of their bodies from various perspectives and representing their discoveries with diverse materials, gradually building a deeper understanding of themselves and their emerging identities.
An unexpected moment opened a new and valuable direction for the research. While listening to a song they really enjoy, the children spontaneously held hands. They began moving together to the music, jumping, coordinating their movements, and intuitively organizing themselves as a group.
What might seem like a moment of spontaneous joy revealed something much deeper: the exploration of rhythm, movement, collaboration, body awareness, and connection with others through a shared experience.
By attentively observing these moments, the teacher continues to respond to the children’s ideas and interests, meaningfully extending the research and allowing this process to evolve as new questions, experiences, and discoveries arise.
The Butterfly Project
The Kinder 4 students, alongside their teacher Ms. Paula Amaro, proudly presented their butterfly project to their families. Each child had the opportunity to share their knowledge and communicate what they had learned through their individual work and representations.
Inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the children created their own interpretations of the story, transforming the digital environment into an immersive experience for all who were present. Through their voices, creations, and reflections, they beautifully showcased the depth of their learning and the joy of sharing their project with their families.
